Satlantic Hyperspectral OCR

Overview

The facility provides access to a set of SatLantic Hyperspectral ocean colour radiometers (OCRS), which allow for simultaneous measurements of in air and in water downwelling irradiance and upwelling radiance. Through this, precise measurements of ocean colour can be taken, allowing for understanding of the chlorophyll content, organic dissolved matter, and sediment content of the water body to be made.

The set consists of two hyperspectral irradiance sensors, allowing for in air and in water spectral downwelling irradiance measurements; and one spectral upwelling radiance sensor for in-water measurements.

The sensors can be mounted on real-time profilers, moored on autonomous deep-water buoys, installed in autonomous underwater vehicles, as well as on ships and aeroplanes for above-water optic applications.
